Lower School Extra Curricular Opportunities

Opportunities

Grades 1 - 4

DUE TO COVID-19 Extra Curricular Opportunities are SUSPENDED for the 2020-2021 school year until we can ensure the health and safety of our students, instructors, and staff.

Basketball Buddies
Panthers in our lower school programs have opportunities throughout the year to train alongside our amazing Athletic Director, Coach Grant. Coach Grant brings forth all his expertise from his time representing USC Columbia in Men’s Basketball from ‘96’-’00 and subsequently as a professional basketball player. Our young panthers are drilled, skilled, and encouraged by Coach Grant. Be sure to check your email for announcements for upcoming six-week programs!

Minstrels
Students in our Third and Fourth Grade programs are able to enjoy fine vocal instruction from our talented music teachers. Our choir is delighted to perform for both school and community audiences, and was blessed in the 2019-2020 school year to be recognized as winners in the SCISA hosted competition.

Junior Jazzercise
Mead Hall’s Junior Jazzercise is a specialized program open to all Lower School panthers and encourages children of all abilities to gross emotionally and mentally as well as physically. In addition to improved physical fitness, our panthers rapidly gain confidence following along simple movements and engaging with ‘follow the leader’ teaching techniques. The safe and non-competitive atmosphere is established as children are encouraged to develop their skills on a individual level.

Junior Jazzercise is held in the spring semester, typically across March and April. Space is limited so look for an email regarding registration. Cost and dates for our 2021 session will be available soon. For more information please contact Mrs. Gwyn Snider at gsnider@meadhallschool.org.

Violin
Beginner and Intermediate violin is offered as an after school activity to students in first through fourth grade. Our violin students will get the opportunity to showcase their talent and progress in several events throughout the school year. Each orchestra meets for one hour weekly and classes are held in the Extended Care building on Greenville Street.

Registration forms are available in the St. Thaddeus campus office.
