Welcome to Mead Hall
Episcopal School
Deo iuvante, labor noster omnia vincet.
Mead Hall Episcopal School is a PS-12 independent school which combines the best of traditional and innovative curriculum in an environment emphasizing Christian values and moral integrity. The School offers a challenging academic program for your children in a setting which allows them to realize their potential. The cooperative efforts of parents and faculty guide students as they develop the confidence and skills for academic success and dynamic leadership. Our tradition of excellence in education began in 1916 and incorporates the legacies of Aiken Prep, Aiken Day, and Mead Hall. Our school is named after Lt. George Mead, Jr., who attended Aiken Prep before continuing on to Hotchkiss and Yale. At the outset of World War II, he joined the Marine Corps, where he gave his life in leadership and service at Guadalcanal.
As the parish day school of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, Mead Hall maintains a well-qualified and dedicated staff. Small class sizes allow teachers to assess each student’s abilities and needs. Mead Hall is committed to academic excellence based on the mastery of fundamental skills, the development of effective study habits, and a realization of the value of learning. Children are given the opportunity to assume responsibility and make prudent decisions through their learning experiences.
In keeping with the tradition of Episcopal education, Mead Hall welcomes all children to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. St. Thaddeus regards Mead Hall as an essential outreach ministry, acknowledging the privilege and responsibility of shaping children’s lives.
